Aluminum foil is an ultra-thin sheet of aluminum produced under pressure by pulling a sheet of aluminum between two rotating rollers in the rolling process, and then the foil is cut into rolls with a special cutter.
The most common materials used to produce foils are pure primary aluminum or the 1 xxx, 3 xxx and 8 xxx series of alloys, which include iron, silicon, manganese and occasionally copper if greater strength is required. The heated aluminium is rolled into sheets between 2 and 100 mm thick (hot rolled), which are then cold rolled into foils of the desired thickness.
Aluminum foil packaging is the most widely used in the food industry. Many foods are easily affected by sunlight, bacteria, etc., which will damage their appearance and worsen their taste. Aluminum foil solves this problem in the best possible way, which is why it is often considered an ideal core packaging material for dairy products, pastries, and beverages. For example, dry milk in an airtight package made of laminated foil has a shelf life of 2 years.
